Catachan Devils

In Catachan regiments there are squads of highly trained soldiers called Catachan devils.Even by Catachan standarts their skills far exceeds their fellow guardsmans armed with better weapons,they are responsible for pathfinding,laying booby traps and many other tasks.
As my army grows i must include this elite unit because with out them no Catachan army is complete.

As my Catachan army representing LRRP(Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol)first i must make some research how these units works althought in wh40k i was unable to make such army,i did some compromises and yet working army.

The First real-world LRRP was British LRRP which become famous by cooperation with british SAS.Durning Vietnam war the LRRP trained by US Special forces in Guerilla warfare,artillery spotting,inteligence gathering and many other special tasks.Later that war two other groups were created,the Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MACV) Studies and Observation Group (SOG).Their job was deeper penetrating, and Special reconnaissance.Marines has also its own LRRP units called Marine force recon units.In 1969 all LRRP units was folded into newly formed 75th Rangers.

the LRRP units operated on reconnaissance and combat patrols, either obtaining highly vital intelligence, or performing highly dangerous raids and ambushes.
Later durning Vietnam war LRRP teams were used in risky mission due their kill ratio
it was said that 400 enemy troops for every LRRP killed.
Durning Nam war the LRRP units conducted around 23 000 patrols and had accounted 10 000 enemy KIA(using ambushes,sniping,artillery strikes and airstrikes)

of course there are lots of LRRP units all over the globe but these US ones had more info than others and i want my Catachans based on these troops

Well some people are blaming GW for ruining their game but to be honest there is sometimes needs for changes and this one will be pretty good.Real LOS and +4 cover save for example.anyways i dont want speculate more i will read it and im pretty sure i wont quit the game.Gamesworkshop makeing Warhammer 40000 more easier to make more money but well who did not?
Anyway i little progresed today a Sentinel walker i had to add HK missle upgrade

Catachan ,the biggest hellhole in galaxy

Why Catachan?why not other guard army or even different army?
Well the answer is pretty simple althought i think about several other armies like chaos or nids but only two armies catch my eyes for bit longer it was catachans and elysians well then choices was hard both hard hitting commandos units but after reading Deathworld novel-choices were made

Recruiting a Regiment

As a new edition of Warhammer 40000 comming in fast i decided to change my army.To this point i fight with Mechanized Tau for Greater Good,but things are changing and i always wants to field Imperial guard army and when new campaing was being prepeared i take this oppurtinity to field this specialist force.First thing what i´ve done was armylist then next step was paint scheme after few tests i settled with black clothing and skin camoflage.
That was time When 23rd Catachan is born.
